A semi-truck driver died Wednesday morning while trying to repair his truck along northbound Interstate 5 in Tacoma.
Witnesses told Washington State Patrol a semi-truck driver pulled his truck over to the right shoulder and appeared to be working on it when it started moving again. The driver was struck and killed by the truck, said Washington State Patrol Trooper Johnna Batiste.
The driver was identified by Washington State Patrol as Steven Harshman, 64, of Vancouver.
The incident happened near Pacific Avenue at milepost 133.
Two lanes of northbound I-5 were closed for over an hour while authorities investigated and worked to clear the scene.
