Drivers will face lane reductions on northbound Interstate 5 in Tukwila over the next two weekends.
The three left lanes of northbound I-5 will be closed from the Interstate 405-State Route 518 interchange to Martin Luther King Jr. Way from Friday at 10 p.m. to Sunday at 11:59 p.m. The southbound I-405 HOV bypass ramp, Southcenter Boulevard on-ramp, and Interurban Avenue South on-ramp to northbound I-5 will also be closed.
The closure is weather-dependent.
The work is part of a multi-year project to replace broken concrete, repave, replace expansion joints, and make ADA improvements on 10 miles of northbound I-5 between Des Moines and the Duwamish River. The three right lanes of the same section and the same ramps were closed the weekend before.
Construction began in April 2017 is expected to be finished this spring, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
