Seattle is the 5th worst U.S. city to drive in, says study

With revive I-5 and a skyrocketing population, traffic in Seattle seems to be a headache almost every day.

A study from WalletHub affirms the long-held belief that traffic is terrible: Seattle is fifth worst city in the nation to drive in.

WalletHub compared a variety of factors in the study, analyzing cost of ownership and maintenance, traffic, infrastructure, safety, and access to vehicle maintenance.

Points were assigned to each of these categories, and an overall average was assigned to each city as their score.

Of the 100 cities analyzed in the study, Seattle ranked 96th with an average of 42.03 points.

Seattle ranked 42nd in access to vehicle maintenance, 61st in safety, 88th in traffic and infrastructure, and 90th in cost of ownership and maintenance.

Rounding out the bottom five after Seattle are Philadelphia, Oakland, San Francisco, and Detroit.

The top city is Raleigh, N.C. with an average of 68.4 points. Following Raleigh in the top 5 are Corpus Christi, Orlando, Greensboro, and Plano.
