Three Mariners were named to the American League All-Star team today. Two of them make the team for the very first time.

Right fielder Mitch Haniger and designated hitter Nelson Cruz were named as reserves. Closer Edwin Diaz was voted in as a reliever. For Haniger and Diaz, it's their first All-Star team nod, Cruz's sixth.

Shortstop Jean Segura didn't make the cut, but he's up on the "Final Vote" list. Fans can vote him into the Midsummer Classic until Wednesday at 1 p.m. PT.
