Sounders select Air Force midfielder Tucker Bone with 1st round pick

Bone scored 13 goals in 22 games during his senior season.

With the 20th pick in the MLS Superdraft, the Seattle Sounders selected midfielder Tucker Bone from the Air Force.  He was a MAC Hermann Trophy Semifinalist in his senior season.  That award is the Heisman of college soccer.  Bone is also a two-time first team USC All-American.

Bone scored 12 goals in his first three seasons at Air Force, then exploded for 13 goals over 22 games in 2018 including six assists.

Born in Tacoma and raised in California, Bone also played for the Sacramento Republic U17 and U18 teams.

With their second round pick (44), Seattle chose defender Joel Rydstrand out of Creighton University.

The San Jose Earthquakes selected Seattle U's Sergio Rivas with the 26th overall pick.   Washington forward Kyle Coffee was taken 41st overall by Real Salt Lake.
