Seattle's lack of turnovers approaches historic pace

The Seattle Seahawks’ offense was in disarray to begin the season, turning the ball over five times in their first two games which contributed to an 0-2 record.

That feels like ancient history now. The Seahawks have only turned the ball over five times in their last 13 games, a span that saw them go 9-4 and secure a spot in the playoffs.

Seattle’s five turnovers are the fewest by any team between Weeks 3-15 since 1940. If they manage to commit less than three turnovers in Week 16 against the Arizona Cardinals, they will set the record for fewest turnovers across the last 14 games of an NFL season.

The Seahawks commitment to the run game, combined with a hyper-efficient Russell Wilson, has led the charge for Seattle’s well-oiled offensive attack. Wilson currently sports a career-best 34/6 touchdown to interception ratio, and has only fumbled the ball six times since Week 2.

Chris Carson is Seattle’s only running back to fumble the football this season, a remarkable feat considering Seattle has run the ball more than any other team in the NFL.

A win on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals would give Seattle a 10-win season and the guaranteed No. 5 seed in the playoffs. Two or fewer turnovers would give them an NFL record.
