Home Team Harvest volunteer wins Seahawks ticket

The Renton resident won tickets to the Seahawks vs. Eagles game after helping the Home Team Harvest team raise food for Seattle's needy.

Richard dedicated his Saturday to Home Team Harvest, an annual food drive across Washington state. But he never expected this in return.

The Renton resident won a ticket to his first Seahawks game at CenturyLink Field. Here's how it happened:

Richard was one of the first volunteers to show up to Home Team Harvest on Saturday at the Renton Highland's Safeway location. He spent his early morning helping volunteers load food and donations to benefit Northwest Harvest. At one point, Richard even went into Safeway and spent his hard-earned money to purchase more food donations.

Greg Woodfill was also at Home Team Harvest. He had an extra ticket to the Seahawks game and decided he would donate his spare ticket to a volunteer. So with help from KING 5's Chris Egan, Woodfill noticed Richard's hard work and offered him the prized ticket.

The best part had to be Richard's reaction to the news, which you can watch in the video above. The game turned out to be a huge victory for the Seattle Seahawks. That's what we'd call a win-win-win!

Thanks to Richard, Greg and all of the volunteers who helped make Home Team Harvest such a success. There's still time to get involved and help raise 5 million meals for our neighbors in need.
