Seattle Seahawks running back C. J. Prosise is “ready to go” for Saturday night against the Chargers. Coach Pete Carroll confirmed the news Friday during his press conference.

Prosise sat out Thursday’s matchup against the Colts with a hip flexor injury and will make his preseason debut in Los Angeles. Carroll talked about the importance of the game for the running back.

“It is, every one of these opportunities are big for the guys,” Carroll said. “And for C.J., because he missed one, it steps it up a little a bit. We’d like to see him play quite a bit in this game.”

Carroll also announced running back Gerald Holmes, who has missed the last couple of practices, has been out with a concussion.

The Seahawks added some depth to the running back position Friday morning signing undrafted free agent Justin Stockton to the roster.

Seattle’s first-round draft pick, Rashaad Penny, was on hand Friday to watch his teammates practice, fresh off his surgery to repair a broken finger.

Carroll said Penny is in “recovery mode” and won’t travel with the team to Los Angeles.
