THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (AP) — The Los Angeles Rams made their sixth trade of the draft Saturday, moving up to select Washington defensive tackle Greg Gaines.
The Rams traded two fifth-round picks to New England for a fourth-rounder and a seventh-rounder. The deal was the third of the draft between the two conference champions.
Los Angeles then used that 134th overall pick on Gaines, who grew up in nearby La Habra. The bulky lineman from the Pac-12 champions is a potential nose tackle for the Rams, who are expecting Ndamukong Suh to leave as a free agent.
Gaines is the second Washington player drafted by the Rams, joining second-round pick Taylor Rapp. The Rams' defense now has four Huskies, including cornerback Marcus Peters and leading tackler Cory Littleton.
