Same day, new smile: Build confidence and eliminate infection in 24 hours

Dr. Shawn Keller uses a revolutionary approach to place dental implants and transform a full smile in one visit. Sponsored by Smiles By Design.

KIRKLAND, Wash. — Chris Trevino met with Dr. Shawn Keller of Smiles By Design after his tooth broke while eating a nacho. He had struggled with periodontal disease for years, and Dr. Keller found several other problems when examining his mouth, including an infection in the broken tooth and several abscesses.

Dr. Keller was able to use the Same Day New Smile approach to fix Chris’ teeth and mouth issues and give him new confidence in his smile.

“It was an amazing experience to go through that process of having all of those infections that we saw removed and just being healed from it,” Chris said.

The Same Day New Smile procedure replaces a full arch of teeth with only four dental implants. It also includes a bridge, which mimics the look and feel of your natural teeth. And, this can all be done in one day!

“What’s really, really nice about this procedure is once we settle on the plan, it’s one day, and you leave that day with your teeth,” Dr. Keller said. “There’s no waiting. The infection is all gone. There’s no chance to really build up fear to this because before you know it, you’re done.”

Good candidates for this procedure are people who are already in a denture and don’t know about this option and those who have a few implants and various issues. These people may have unfinished dental work because they’ve been discouraged by past procedures and the amount of time and money it has taken. Those who haven’t been to a dentist in many years may also be ideal candidates.

Chris’ wife Mindy says he smiles much more now, and he has benefited in several other ways too. He used to struggle with sinus issues and a recurring cough. Both are now better. His singing (he’s a vocalist) has also improved. Chris’ range has opened up, and he can now hit higher notes.

“My teeth were in such bad shape back then that just to really smile was kind of an embarrassment for me,” Chris said. “I wasn’t really proud of the teeth I had then, but I am now.”
