SEATTLE — Seattle Girls' School eighth graders Landa VanderWey and Luisa Grutz-Bianchi are both passionate about trying to stop climate change. So when their school's idea incubator program launched, they ultimately developed a product they think can make a difference.
It's called Plantable Plates. It's a compostable plate that once buried in the ground, decomposes and creates a beautiful plant. Their prototype grows wildflowers, but the girls are hoping to expand to radishes and lettuce.
