You'll want to put on comfortable shoes before you play this show.

In Panoply's new immersive podcast The Walk, out Jan. 18, the listener becomes the hero of his or her own story. USA TODAY can exclusively share a clip from the show that has you, the one wearing earbuds, turn into the protagonist after a case of mistaken identity.

What follows is a thriller that immediately puts you on the run in Scotland (the show is best heard while walking) with a package and a name: "Walker." Warning: There are loud noises and gunshot sounds throughout the series.

The show's 31 episodes will be released on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the next four months on Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. The goal? To ensure the vital package's safe arrival in Edinburgh, despite the fact that roads and trains have been closed after an explosion.

The other goal? To burn some calories. The Walk was developed by Six to Start and Naomi Alderman, the creators of popular mobile fitness game, Zombies, Run! By Panoply's estimates, each Walk episode is a 1-2 mile walk.
