Mark your calendars and set reminders: September will be a busy month on the made-up food holiday and deal front.

Besides Labor Day, September brings National Guacamole Day, National Cheeseburger Day and one of the most popular days of the year, National Coffee Day.

September also is Better Breakfast Month, National Honey Month, National Rice Month and National Potato Month.

Today's specials

Checker's and Rally's have a deal only on Wednesday. Plus, four days remain to redeem your free Chick-fil-A nuggets and there are five days left of free Wendy's burgers.

Here are the best deals, big days and ongoing specials, available at participating locations. To be on the safe side, check with your closest location before heading out.

Sept. 26: Checkers and Rally's one-day deal

Starting at midnight and through the close of business Wednesday, participating Checkers and Rally's restaurants will sell All American Cheeseburgers for 69 cents each.

Sept. 27: Starbucks Happy Hour returns

Starbucks brings back its Happy Hour on Thursday. Starting at 3 p.m., buy any grande or larger handcrafted espresso beverage or Frappuccinoo and get a second one free. This deal will be loaded to Starbucks Rewards members accounts and non-members can sign up for a code at https://happyhour.starbucks.com

Sept. 28: National Drink Beer Day

Three weeks after National Beer Lover's Day, it's time for another day to celebrate beer.

Sept. 29: National Coffee Day 

These caffeinated deals are percolating and many more are expected.

7-Eleven: Through Sunday, with the purchase of breakfast sandwich over $2, get a free coffee. New customers who download the 7-Eleven app and join the loyalty program will get 800 points, which can be redeemed for a free medium coffee.

Amora: The coffee subscription service will give free two bags with every National Coffee Day purchase. One of the free bags will be Amora’s new Pumpkin Spice coffee.

Atlas Coffee Club: On Friday and Saturday, get a free 12-ounce bag of premium single origin coffee with any subscription to the travel-themed coffee of the month club with promo code ATLASCOFFEEDAY18. Limit one per household. 

Barnes & Noble: All Barnes & Noble Cafes will offer a free cup of tall hot or iced coffee all day Saturday.

Biggby Coffee: All hot brewed coffee is half off from open to close Saturday at participating locations.

Boyer’s Coffee: From Sept. 26 through Oct. 2, get $3.95 off any bag of Mash-Up Coffee at  www.boyerscoffee.com with promo code MASHUP18.

Bruegger’s Bagels: This National Coffee Day special started early ad runs through Saturday. Members of Bruegger’s Inner Circle rewards program get a free coffee. Sign up at www.brueggers.com.

car2go: This National Coffee Day deal is a day early. On Friday, the car-sharing service is partnering with select coffee shops in major metropolitan cities including Austin, Chicago, Denver, New York City, Portland, Seattle and Washington D.C. to offer a free drink when car2go members show baristas their app, while supplies last. Caribou Coffee: With any food purchase Saturday, get a free cup of coffee at participating locations.

Chameleon Cold-Brew: The coffee brand is having an Instagram contest Saturday where a month’s supply of cold-brew coffee and swag are up for grabs. Enter by following the Chameleon Instagram page and tagging a friend.

Cinnabon: Get a free 12-ounce coffee at participating locations Saturday. No purchase necessary.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf: At participating locations, get a free regular coffee with the purchase of a food or bakery item Saturday.

Coupons.com: Get a free cup of joe with the popular savings app’s early National Coffee Day rebate Friday. Download the Coupons.com app, then find the “Beer, Wine, Spirits & Coffee” store and tap on the free coffee coupon. Then purchase your single cup of hot coffee Friday at participating restaurants, get an itemized receipt showing your hot coffee purchase and submit the receipt through the app by 11:59 p.m. Saturday to get up to $1.50 added to your Paypal account. Participating restaurants include Starbucks, McDonald’s, Dunkin’ Donuts, 7-Eleven, Tim Hortons, Peet’s Coffee, Subway, Burger King, Taco Bell, Carl’s Jr., Denny’s and IHOP.

Corner Bakery Café: It’s a two-day deal at the fast-casual chain. All locations will offer a free any size hand-roasted coffee or cold brew (where available) with any purchase on Sept. 28 and Sept. 29.

Cumberland Farms: Text FREECOFFEE to 64827 to receive a coupon for a free iced or hot coffee, any size, to redeem on Sept. 29 at participating locations.

Drinkfinity: From Sept. 28 through Oct. 1, get Drinkfinity’s Americano Starter Kit for $16.50, 50 percent off the regular price with promo code COFFEE. The landing page for the deal will be at www.drinkfinity.com/coffeeday.

Duck Donuts: Get a free small coffee with any purchase Saturday.

Dunkin’ Donuts: At participating restaurants nationwide, buy a hot coffee and get a second cup for free Sept. 29.

Eight O’Clock: The coffee brand is giving away free bags of coffee from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET Saturday on its Facebook page. To enter, comment on the National Coffee Day Facebook post by sharing what variety you want to win. Twelve will win a coffee prize pack. Open to U.S. residents 18 and older.

Einstein Bros. Bagels: With any food purchase Saturday, get a free cup of brewed coffee at participating locations. Many locations now serve Caribou Coffee.

FORTO: For a limited time with the Ibotta smartphone app, get a free 2-ounce single coffee shot at Walmart after rebate. This offer is for Ibotta users who have not redeemed the FORTO rebate before, however, those users might be able to earn 50 cents back for each shot, up to five.

Harry & David: All specialty coffees will be two for $24 at retail stores now through Oct. 25.

Holiday Stationstores: Get a free cup of coffee Saturday by texting COFFEE to 44022. The chain also is running a Free Coffee Tuesday promotion through Oct. 9 but a text coupon isn’t needed.

Godiva: There are three different deals for Saturday. At boutique stores, get 25 percent off a single bag of coffee, at outlet mall locations get a free 2-ounce coffee pouch when you buy a single coffee bag and online get 25 percent off a single bag Saturday. Each deal is limited to one per customer.

illy: Now through 9 a.m. Sunday EST, get a free can of illy coffee when you purchase four cans at www.illy.com and use promo code 5FOR4.

KiTu Life Super Coffee: Get 25 percent off your entire order at www.kitulife.com Sept. 29 with coupon code SUPERCOFFEEDAY2018.

Kolache Factory: Join the company’s email club at www.kolachefactory.com and get a free 12-ounce cup of coffee Sept. 29 with an email coupon. No purchase necessary and limit one coffee per person.

Krispy Kreme: Through Sept. 30, the chain has a special Original Glazed Coffee and Coffee Glazed Doughnuts. On Saturday, at participating locations get a free cup of coffee, any size, with no purchase necessary. Krispy Kreme Rewards members also get a free doughnut on the made-up holiday. La ColombeOn Saturday, La Colombe will be giving away a free tube of Costa Rica San Ramon Honey Sampler with every online roasted coffee purchase at www.lacolombe.com.

LaMar’s Donuts & Coffee: Buy a 16-ounce LaMar’s reusable travel mug for $1.19 Saturday and get it filled with coffee for free. The mugs will be available while supplies last.  

Love’s Travel Stops: On Friday and Saturday, 24-ounce coffee and hot beverages will be on sale for $1. Plus, the company said in a news release that the sales will benefit Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

Marylou’s Coffee: Medium hot coffee will be 32 cents Saturday in honor of the company’s 32nd anniversary.

Maui Wowi Hawaiian: Get 50 percent off online orders of limited-time and classic Maui Wowi Hawaiian coffees at http://shop.mauiwowi.com Sept. 29 with promo code ALOHACOFFEE.

McCafé Frappé: McDonald's bottled McCafé Frappé drinks are sold in participating retailers nationwide and for National Coffee Day, three retailers are offering a deal. At Dollar General, get a digital coupon for a $1 off of a bottle. At Kroger, the bottles will be on sale two for $3 and at Target the drinks will be on sale for $2 each. 

McDonald's: While not a special specific for National Coffee Day, for a limited time get any size McCafé brewed coffee for $1 or a small McCafé espresso drink for $2. Both are part of the fast-food chain’s $1 $2 $3 Dollar Menu. Plus, with the McDonald’s app, purchase five McCafé drinks and get one free.

Neuro Coffee: Here are two different deals running from 12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. ET Sept. 29 at www.getneurocoffee.com: With promo code COFFEEDAY, get 60 percent off the first month of the Roaster’s Club monthly subscription. Or use code FREECOFFEE for a buy-one-get-one free deal on ground beans or K-Cups.

Peet’s Coffee: The chain will have an in-store and online offer. Get 25 percent off on one pound of beans and a free drip coffee or tea at participating Peet’s coffeebars. For online purchases at www.peets.com, get 25 percent off all regular, non-subscription, one pound bean purchases with promo code COFFEEDAY18.

Pilot Flying J: National Coffee Day is a two-day event at the travel centers. With a coupon in the myPilot app, get a free cup of Pilot coffee on Sept. 28 or 29.

PJ’s Coffee: In addition to National Coffee Day, the chain is celebrating its 40th anniversary Sept. 29 and giving away free 12-ounce cups of Ruby Roast light roast hot coffee.

Press Coffee: Visit any location Saturday and get a free cup of drip coffee in any size, no purchase necessary. Get $2 off any latte with the new Press Coffee App, available for Apple and Android, and promo code NCD2018. The offer is good for one latte per customer. 

QuickChek: First-time users of the chain’s mobile app, get a free hot or iced coffee on Sept. 29.

Scooter’s Coffee: Get a free brewed coffee, any size on Sept. 29. No coupon is needed.

Sprinkles Cupcakes: Buy a cupcake Saturday and get a free can of High Brew Coffee.

Stewart’s Shops: From noon to close Saturday, get a free hot, iced or cold brew coffee. All sizes and flavors are included.

Teaspressa: Now through Sunday, get 10 percent off all Teapressa products purchased online at www.teaspressa.com with promo code COFFEEDAY.

Verve Coffee: On Saturday, get free shipping on orders at www.vervecoffee.com and if you're located near one of the retail stores get $1 cups of coffee.

Wawa: Members of Wawa Rewards can get a free cup of coffee Sept. 29 with a special one-day offer loaded to their accounts. Also, for a limited time, get any size coffee for $1, except at Florida locations. 

White Castle: Get a free small coffee with any purchase and a coupon at www.whitecastle.com/summer-savings.

Applebee’s: The September Neighborhood Drink of the Month is the $2 Samuel Adams OctoberFest.

Baskin-Robbins: Small Cappuccino Blasts are $2.99 in September and October.

Bone Fish Grill: Through Sept. 30,  get a free appetizer with purchase of two entrees and this coupon posted at www.bonefishgrill.com.

Carrabba’s Italian GrillThrough Sept. 30, get a free order of lasagne when you dine in and order select signature dishes, including Chicken Bryan, Chicken Marsala or Pollo Rosa Maria.

Carvel: Through Oct. 31, save $2 off a 48-ounce or larger cake or $3 off any sheet cake with a printable coupon.

Chili’s: The chain’s $5 margarita special for September is the Crown Apple Crisp, which is made with Jose Cuervo tequila, Crown Royal Regal Apple Whiskey, Cranberry Juice and Fresh Sour. The drink is available through Sept. 30.

Dairy Queen: For a limited time, download the Dairy Queen app and register for an account and get a free small Blizzard treat at participating locations. Limit one offer per person per visit. Not valid in Texas. There also are weekly exclusives through the app.

Jersey Mike’s: Through Sept. 30, get 10 percent online orders with promo code SUBABOVE10 at www.jerseymikes.com/order. By placing an order, also be entered in the chain’s annual A Sub Above College Football Tailgate Sweepstakes.

Jimboy's Tacos: Through Sept. 30, first responders get a free Original Ground Beef Taco or Bean Taco when they present their employee ID at participating California and Nevada locations for the chain’s new Taco for a Hero campaign. The offer is for firefighters, police, EMTs and active military personnel.

Olive Garden: The Never Ending Pasta Bowl promotion begins Sept. 24 and runs through Nov. 18. The pasta bowl starts at $10.99. During the eight-week deal, 23,000 people will be whipping out a Never Ending Pasta Pass and eating all-they-can-eat and another 1,000 people bought annual passes. The passes sold out in less than a second.

On The Border: Through Oct. 1, get chicken tinga and seasoned ground beef tacos are $2 and brisket and southwest chicken tacos are $4 at participating locations.

Panda Express: Through Oct. 31, get $3 off any online order $5 or more with the code "HONEYISBACK."

Red Lobster: The Endless Shrimp promotion is back for a limited time.

Sonic: For a limited time, get a Carhop Classic, which is the choice of the Quarter Pound Double Cheeseburger or the Classic Signature Slinger, served with medium tots for only $2.99.

Wendy's: This deal lasts through Sept. 30. Get a free Dave's Single with any Wendy’s purchase with an offer on the mobile app, which is available for Apple and Android devices. This offer will refresh daily. Also, through Oct. 7, get a free half-size Harvest Chicken Salad with the Wendy's app and a purchase. One offer per customer per day. Registration in app is required.

Wingstop: Through Nov. 20, Wingstop has a “Big Night In Boneless Bundle” promotion. For $15.99, get 25 boneless wings in three flavors with three dips at participating locations nationwide.

White CastleThrough Oct. 31, the Columbus-based fast-food chain has $3 Bacon Threesomes, which include three options of bacon-loaded sliders.
