A mother in Edmonds is hoping people around the world can make life a little brighter for her 5-year-old son.

Trine Longaker is asking people to send postcards to her son, Skyler.

Skyler has craniosynostosis, a birth defect where joints between bones close prematurely, meaning the brain can't grow in its natural shape.

Skylar will have another procedure in November.

His mom hopes to be able to show her son the world through postcards. "It will fill his plain old hospital room with pictures of other countries and states and make it a little brighter of a situation," Trine said.

She is now hoping people will answer the call and send Skyler post cards from around the U.S. and the globe.

If you would like to send a postcard, you can send it here:
