The Collective is a new clubhouse off Dexter Avenue in Seattle and built to bring people together. Whether you're a rock climber or an accountant, the new space offers a place for people to collaborate or relax. Here are five reasons to check it out.

1. The Collective is a grown-up clubhouse, but it's not stodgy. The founders joke that clubs can often be perceived as "male, pale and stale," but this space would rather be known as a basecamp for the mind, body, and soul. You do have to pay a membership fee, but you have access to food, drinks, lectures, music, yoga, code fests, social impact outings, photography classes and cool spaces to hangout.

2. The Collective has two sides where you can hangout. One side pays homage to the mountains (Alpenglow) and another reflects the water (High Tide.) The High Tide side is a place where people can collaborate, listen to music or have a beer. The Alpenglow side has features like a hammock garden, a climbing rock wall, and an indoor campfire.

3. The Collective sponsors local artists. There is studio space for an artist in residence to help support local art. During an artist's time in the space, that artist will give talks or demos for members. Also, all the spaces are decorated with local artwork -- from the bathroom ceilings to the bar room floors and even the menus.

4. Membership costs are pretty reasonable if you're considering buying into a co-working space. Many co-working spaces run $300 and up each month depending on whether you need office space. The Collective membership rate is $150 a month. Founding members even saved more money by signing up before the space opened.

5. Part of the amenities are still open to the public. The club is located inside the Juno Building off Dexter Avenue. The club is divided into two spaces separated by The Crest, which is a public coffee shop. The club also has a walk-up window called The Bulkhead which provides the neighborhood with menu items like $5 burritos.
