Drivers battle snow, slick streets in south sound

South Puget Sound didn’t get an much snow as other areas, but it was enough to cause problems. The Washington State Patrol responded to more than 35 snow related crashed in Pierce County Monday morning.

Mother Nature reminded drivers what happens when it snows in Pierce County: cars crash.

The Washington State Patrol responded to more than 35 wrecks, spin-outs, and fender benders on I-5 and surrounding state highways Monday morning.

The City of Tacoma closed a number of hilly downtown streets after cars lost control during the morning commute.

“I guess I’m going to be a little bit late,” said Devin Scott, who wasn’t able to make it to his chiropractor’s appointment.

Scott couldn’t get his jeep out of his alley. The street was iced over, but Scott wasn't complaining.

"It's about time we get some beautiful, white snow,” said Scott.
