In Seattle, the fine for speeding in a school zone is $234. And there are more than a dozen schools where you're more likely to get caught.

In 2012, the City of Seattle began installing fixed cameras to enforce the 20 mph school zone speed limit and reduce the number of car-related injuries and fatalities. The city started with four elementary schools.
The program has expanded and now 14 schools:

- Thurgood Marshall Elementary
- Holy Family Elementary
- Roxhill Elementary
- Dearborn Elementary
- Bailey Gatzert Elementary
- Eckstein Middle School

- Mercer Middle School
- Northgate Elementary
- Rainier View Elementary
