Seattle rock band Alice In Chains will be the first band to perform on the Space Needle’s new rotating glass floors. The group announced the August 21 performance Friday morning.
SiriusXM will broadcast the acoustic set exclusively on Friday, August 31 at 5 p.m. The performance comes before the band releases their new album "Rainer Fog," their first new album in five years.
“I’ve visited The Space Needle many times in my life, and it’s going to be a real honor and a total trip for us to play there,” said Alice In Chains guitarist and vocalist Jerry Cantrell. “We’re so proud of this album and to be able to celebrate its release with a performance at one of our town’s most iconic landmarks is really special.”
The performance is part of a series of Seattle-based events including an “Alice In Chains Night” at Safeco Field on August 20.
Alice In Chains will play at White River Amphitheatre in Seattle on August 25.
