A basketball tournament hosted by a Seattle sports legend is raising money and awareness for area youth programs.

The Slick Watts Classic, formerly the Jim Marsh Classic, wrapped up today. The weekend-long 3-on-3 basketball tournament took place in the north parking lot of the Outlet Connection in Auburn.

The competition was for all ages, with champions in each age bracket. In all, about 200 teams took part with around 3,000 spectators.

The Watts Foundation teamed up with Auburn Chamber of Commerce, Mentor Washington, and other sponsors. Some of the proceeds went to The Watts Foundation and Mentor Washington, raising money for youth programs, youth basketball programs, and mentor programs.

Watts said that the lessons learned from playing basketball can set kids up for success later in life.

"It's teamwork, it's togetherness," said Watts.

Watts says he plans on making the tournament bigger and better for next year.
