Raffaele Sollecito shares his story

It was a murder case that made headlines across the globe for the salacious accusations made by prosecutors. At the center: a University of Washington exchange student and her Italian boyfriend, charged in the brutal death of her British roommate in Perugia, Italy. Convicted and sentence to 26 and 25 years, respectively, Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito maintained their innocence, then rejoiced as an appeals court overturned their convictions and set them free.

Amanda returned to Seattle while Raffaele remained in Italy, but the two remain friends. Raffaele shares his account of their terrifying four-year ordeal in the new book Honor Bound: My Journey to Hell and Back with Amanda Knox. He sat down with Margaret for an extended interview. This is the first part of that conversation.
