Orphaned bear cubs arrive at PAWS

The bear cubs weigh just about six pounds each and are still finding their footing.
Two orphaned cubs are getting care at PAWS before their release to the wild.

Two orphaned bear cubs are being cared for at the Progressive Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) in Lynnwood, Washington.

The cubs weigh about six pounds each and are still finding their balance, as seen in a playful video posted by PAWS.

They will need about a year of care before returning to their natural habitat.

PAWS is the only rehabilitator of American black bears in the region. It costs $3,500 to raise one cub. A fundraiser is in place to care for these cubs and other animals at PAWS. Visit the Virtual Paddle page to get involved.
