Fallen Kent Officer Diego Moreno’s name was added to a memorial stone at the department’s headquarters Friday.

“We honor his memory. We honor his sacrifice. And we vow by placing his name on this stone that we will never forget,” said an officer during the ceremony.

Moreno was killed while responding to a high-speed chase last July. The 35-year-old left behind a wife and two young children.

“We remember his smile, his laugh, his passion for law enforcement, and – more importantly – his love for his family.”

A moment of silence was held during the ceremony to remember Moreno and all other officers who have died in the line of duty.
