SEATTLE - A move of epic proportions is underway on Lake Washington.

Crews are relocating an 114-year-old house in Seward Park to Bainbridge Island.

Nickel Brothers Construction is facilitating the complicated move. Crews spent three weeks prepping house and put wheels under it.

A truck is very slowly pulling it down to a barge waiting on Lake Washington, where it will take it through the Ballard Locks to Bainbridge Island.

The home was built in 1902 and was recently purchased by the Piland family, who say they are excited to give it a new home.

"You can't build an old house. So part of it was wanting to have an old house and part of it was also keeping a house out of a landfill, which we love that part of it. So does the person moving the house," said Amy Piland, the new owner.

"It was a great way to get a house we loved in a financial equation that's hopefully a little less than building new."

They say they have a perfect waterfront spot on Bainbridge for it.
