The Northwest African American Museum opened its doors in 2008, after a 25-year effort to bring the dream to life. The museum reflects and appreciates the history, arts and cultures of people of African descent for people of all backgrounds and walks of life to enjoy. The museum has hosted exhibits such as Posing Beauty in African American Culture, Drawing Attention Outside the Lines, and 100% Kanekalon: The Untold Story of the Marginalized Matriarch.

KING 5’s donation will help fund two lectures the Northwest African American Museum and Frye Art Museum will be hosting via a partner presentation.
