Figgy Pudding carolers bring cheer to downtown Seattle

Thousands took to the streets of Seattle for the 32nd annual 'Great Figgy Pudding Caroling Competition' Friday night. The event raises money to benefit the Pike Place Market Senior Center and Food Bank.

Thousands of people packed the streets downtown Seattle Friday night for the 32nd Annual Great Figgy Pudding Caroling Competition.

Around 1,000 carolers and dozens of teams lined 5th Avenue competing for donations, or ‘fig-lanthropy’ as they call it.

“It’s my favorite thing every year,” said Brianna Roe. “I come every year whether I’m by myself or bring people with me. I just love it. Love the caroling, music, cheer.”

The Starbucks Chorus performs at the Figgy Pudding carol competion.

DJs from Warm 106.9 emceed the event, and KING 5 Evening’s Jim Dever and Kim Holcomb served as “Figmasters.” Returning groups included the Starbucks Chorus, Emerald City Voices, LLEW Crew, and Silver Belles.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Pike Market Senior Center and Food Bank.
