Everett High School Food Drive helps hundreds

EVERETT, Wash. - Students at Everett High School have been working hard over the past several weeks to provide hundreds of meals for families in need this Thanksgiving. Each year the EHS leadership class is responsible for organizing the Thanksgiving Food Drive.

Students and staff have been working together to provide Thanksgiving meal baskets for more than 200 families in their community. They partner with Volunteers of America to serve as many families as possible.

The staff has helped the students and so have the elementary and middle schools by donating canned goods and non-perishables. The meal basket includes turkey, pumpkin pie, milk, eggs, fresh vegetables, fresh fruit, butter, dinner rolls, onions, potatoes and other fresh items.

Once the meal baskets are put together, all of the students hand deliver the food to the families in need. Their meal delivery day is November 22, two days before Thanksgiving.
