LYNNWOOD, Wash. -- Lynnwood police have launched an investigation after a child was injured Sunday when she fell from a moving car.

The incident reportedly happened around 1:30 p.m. on 64th Avenue W, just north of 200th Street SW.

Preliminary reports say the 6-year-old girl fell out of the car as it was making a turn from a parking lot. The child was then struck by the car she fell from.

Lynnwood Police says the girl's condition has upgraded to stable, but she remains at Harborview Medical Center.

The driver in the involved was cooperating with police.

Drivers should expect road closures and traffic delays while police conduct their investigation.
