An arrest warrant was issued Monday for an Issaquah woman who was a no-show in King County Superior Court where she was set to face charges of fabricating evidence against Bellevue Police Chief Steve Mylett.

Idunn Schneider, 45, told police in August that Mylett had raped her after they arranged to meet through an online dating site. Schneider is charged with malicious prosecution and tampering with physical evidence after a multi-month Bothell police investigation found Schneider used “spoofed” e-mail accounts and created fake e-mails to implicate Mylett.

Court documents show that Schneider may now live in Oslo, Norway. A marital separation agreement filed with the court states that Schneider’s two children can visit her in Norway; the children are living with their father in Western Washington.

When contacted for comment on Schneider’s whereabouts, the King County Prosecutor’s Office would only say that investigators are working with law enforcement to determine Schneider’s status.

Mylett and the Bothell Police Department did not respond to requests for comment.

In October, the prosecutor’s office also dropped all charges against former Bellevue Police Officer John Kivlin, who was jailed for 49 days after Schneider reported to police that Kivlin had violated a no-contact order by texting her. Investigators determined those texts had been fabricated.
