A 16-year-old boy died from a shooting in the parking lot of a Renton Walmart on Sunday afternoon.
The Renton Police Department reports three people got into a fight inside a vehicle. The teenager who was driving was shot in the chest and died from his injuries. The vehicle then struck the Renton Walmart building.
One person was detained for questioning, but Renton police are pursuing leads on the shooter. There are no other injuries to report.
The shooting happened around 2 p.m. Sunday. The store was closed on a normally busy Sunday afternoon after a fire inside the store Saturday night.
The victim's grandmother arrived at the scene after the shooting and said, "My grandson was a good child from a good family." She continued, "All of this violence needs to stop."
