12-year-old Auburn girl uses her voice to fight back against bullying

A song about bullying from Autumn Helene will be featured in a new TV mini series.

A 12-year-old Auburn girl is standing up to bullies through her songwriting.

Autumn Chociej, whose stage name is Autumn Helene, is taking back her power.

"I was cyber-bullied by a bunch of boys texting me, so it was just back and forth, it made me feel really bad about myself knowing I didn’t do anything wrong,” said Chociej.

The Auburn native is a songwriter, composer and singer who's now using her music to heal.

Chociej wrote the song "You Won't Regret A Thing" in response to the experience she had last summer.

"That song is about how people look back and think, 'Wow, the bad things that they did, they shouldn’t have done that.' I feel like with them, they wouldn’t have regretted what they did,” she said.

Now her music is inspiring others to survive painful experiences.

”Unfortunately, a lot of kids go through a long process of bullying. And for me, it was only for a few months and I kind of wrote this song as a way to help,” Chociej said.

Her song "You Won't Regret A Thing" is expected to air in season one of the new dark fantasy thriller, Hunting Jessica

Chociej's and her mom are planning to spend spring break in Oklahoma where the series is being filmed. Filming is expected to wrap in April.

She is even slated to make a cameo appearance on the show in season two.

In the meantime, the young singer will remain busy performing her music at events all over western Washington.
