One of the icons of KING TV is King Mike, a whimsical character with a microphone for a head, who wears a king's crown and robe.

When Dorothy Bullitt bought fledgling television station KRSC-TV, Channel 5, in 1948, she changed the call letters to KING.

Bullitt's good friend Walt Disney lent his artistic flair to help her get the station off the ground by creating King Mike.

King Mike appeared in print ads for television programs and was a well known, friendly face to viewers of the then-new medium.

He was brought back in 1998 for the station's 50th anniversary and has endured as a symbol of KING TV ever since.

He has been used in multiple campaigns, from Christmas cards to Home Team Harvest.
