Howard University homecoming will shut down DC streets

Police in Washington are warning of street closings in conjunction with the homecoming game and festivities at Howard University.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Police in Washington are warning of street closings in conjunction with the homecoming game and festivities at Howard University.

Howard's homecoming game against the Norfolk State Spartans is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday.

Police say a parade will take place in advance of the game, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Police say the parade will shut down portions of Sixth Street NW, Fairmont Street NW, Georgia Avenue NW and Howard Place NW.

Police say that streets will be shut down beginning at 9:30 a.m. and that motorists should consider alternate routes.
