SEATTLE - Most people know Grant Goodeve from the late 70's hit Eight is Enough, where he played oldest son David and sidelined as a Teen Magazine Pin-up.

And, of course, all of us in the Northwest, and at KING5, know him as the host of Northwest Backroads.

But there's another side to Grant Goodeve. A Cowboy side. He plays a major role in a new short film called, House of the Righteous.

The western, just released by moments.org, a production arm of the cable channel INSP, features Grant, and Edward James Olmos, in a standoff that represents the ultimate conflict between Good and Evil.

Grant comes by his cowboy chops honestly: he competed as a bare-back bronc rider back in the early '70s, was in the short film The Shootout, and is always ready to saddle up for Northwest Backroads.

As Grant Goodeve rides again, he's pleased there's still a spot on-screen...for the Good Guy.

"When Eight is Enough was on, you had three networks. Now there's just a plethor," Goodeve said, "You have an opportunity to do things now that you didn't do before. Because there was just a cookie cutter way of doing things. I love the fact that now it's kinda the wild west of film."

You can watch "House of the Righteous" , an 8-minute film here.
