SEATTLE — While some projects require special gear, there are certain tools everyone should have on hand that are versatile and make life simpler.
Amy Ecklund, contractor and owner of AmyWorks in Seattle's Georgetown neighborhood recommends these must-haves when putting together your home toolkit:
- Multi-bit screwdriver
- Tape measure
- Torpedo level
- Utility knife
- Good quality caulking gun
- Dryer vent brush
- Impact drive with drill bits and screw bits
- Stud finder
Of course, all of these should be stored in a sturdy tool bag or box to make it easy to access and you should always have safety glasses available to use.
