As a fan of the Hotel Transylvania franchise, actress Kathryn Hahn was excited to join the cast – and as the mother of a daughter named Mae, she was thrilled to be interviewed by a different 9-year-old with the same name.
Mae Piercy, an Evening junior reporter, chatted with Hahn about Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation.
PIERCY: "Your character is new in the movie. Do you think Captain Ericka is a good guy or a bad guy, and why?"
HAHN: "I think Captain Ericka is a complicated woman. She kind of falls in love with Dracula, and I think when she realizes he maybe isn't as bad as what her dad told her that all monsters were, that she starts to see him as actually, that monsters aren't as bad as she was taught.”
PIERCY: "Would you want to go on a big cruise? Where would you go?”
HAHN: “I would. My husband and his family once went to Alaska on a cruise and they loved it, so I think that would be really fun."
PIERCY: "What's something that makes you speechless?"
HAHN: "When my kids do something that's remarkable to me, that's funny or unexpected.”
PIERCY: "What's your favorite monster movie other than the Hotel Transylvania movies?”
HAHN: “I love Godzilla."
PIERCY: "I've watched it once but it wasn't my favorite.”
HAHN: “Wasn't your favorite. What's your favorite?”
PIERCY: “I don't honestly know, I don't watch many monster movies - other than Hotel Transylvania."
HAHN: “Do you like Hotel Transylvania?”
PIERCY: “Yes.”
HAHN: “Good. Me, too.”
