Could Drax, Mantis and War Machine get their own spin-off after 'Avengers Infinity War'?

Don Cheadle, Dave Bautista and Pom Klementieff joke with KING 5's Evening about sequels, nicknames, and fake scripts.
Don Cheadle, Pom Klementieff and Dave Bautista talk to entertainment reporter Kim Holcomb about their roles in Avengers Infinity War.

KING 5 has the Northwest exclusive with the cast of Avengers Infinity War – beginning with War Machine, Mantis and Drax!

Kim Holcomb sat down with Don Cheadle, Pom Klementieff and Dave Bautista. They couldn’t talk much about the movie (see: NO SPOILERS!) But they may have confirmed a new Marvel concept…

HOLCOMB: "I assume that I'm talking to the three of you together because this is the way to announce that you're all getting your own spin-off together?”

CHEADLE: “Yes. It's called Third Wheel. I just sit there and watch them interact in their weird thing, and I'm like, ‘Can anybody talk to me?’”

BAUTISTA: “Every once in a while we just look at each other and then over at him – ‘What's he doing here?’ Then start whispering…”

CHEADLE: “Yeah, it's kind of a socially awkward movie. Third Wheel. Look for it in theaters next year."

HOLCOMB: "Is it true that you didn't read the whole script and didn't know what was going to happen, even to the point that you guys were shooting?"

KLEMENTIEFF: "I read a script, but I'm not sure it was the right one. Because now everybody tells me that they didn't read the script. I was like, 'I read it.' Maybe they gave me a wrong one?”

CHEADLE: “They were like, ‘Here you go Pom, read that.' Just placate her. (laughter) Even the scenes that we did read, they'd change on the day. A lot of things would change in real time, so you were going, 'Wait a minute, this was happening in this scene.' There was a constant need to track what had happened before and where we were going, in every scene."

HOLCOMB: "When there are this many people in the cast, and many of whom share the same name - you have multiple Toms, multiple Chris’s - did you have nicknames for each other, did you go by last names? How would you communicate?"

KLEMENTIEFF: "At some point they called Tom (Holland) 'Dutch' because… his friends called him Dutch.”

BAUTISTA: “Then I insisted that they start calling me Dutch because my nickname growing up was DJ and I thought 'Dutch is way more cool so call me Dutch.'”

CHEADLE: “And then they would just start snapping and be like, ‘You, you. You, in that suit.’"

HOLCOMB: "For people like my son - he's 12 and if he was in this room he would be freaking out right now - it is a sort of singular connection you're making with fans. Who have you fanned out about like that in your own life?"

CHEADLE: "Everybody was kind of doing that with each other (on set.) Remembering performances, like 'Wait a minute, that guy has an Oscar. She's got 3 nominations.’ And there's a lot of things outside of this world that we're impressed about, so it was kind of really fun to get to work with these people. It's kind of special."

Avengers Infinity War is rated PG-13 and opens April 27.
