Vandals break windows, spray paint buildings in downtown Olympia

Witnesses say anywhere from 10 to 20 people vandalized downtown Olympia Wednesday night.

The Olympia Police Department reported between 10 to 20 individuals dressed in dark clothing vandalized downtown Olympia near Capitol Way and 4th Avenue around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday night.

The group broke windows of a US Bank branch and a new condominium complex. They also spray painted the old Les Schwab building and several other businesses along 4th Avenue, according to a department spokesperson.

Police reported they made no arrests because the group disappeared as quickly as they came together.

Thursday morning Olympia PD released surveillance video of the group moving through downtown.

The department estimates damage totals between $10,000-$15,000.

The Olympia Fire Department, on Thursday, worked to remove graffiti from the night before.
