Sketch of suspect in Burien armed robbery of 13-year-old

Investigators released a sketch of one of two suspect accused of robbing a 13-year-old walking home from school in Burien.

Detectives have released a sketch of a suspect in connection to an armed robbery of a 13-year-old boy in Burien. The victim, Jacob Ombac, says one of the two suspects put a gun to his chest.

The suspects took Jacob’s backpack, and during a scuffle, the gun went off.

Police say one suspect is in his late teens, of Samoan or Southeast Asian descent, with curly black hair. He was last seen wearing a red jacket, blue jeans, and white shoes.

Deputies describe the second suspect as an African American man, 40 to 50 years old, last seen wearing a black jacket

Investigators say the suspects took off in a Suzuki SX-4.

Jacob has several scrapes and bruises after his encounter with the suspects who were after his $800 leather backpack. He says he was walking home from school when the suspects pulled up in the car, and one jumped out.

"He runs toward me, and he's yelling, 'give me your backpack. Give me your backpack.' He puts the gun right to my chest," Jacob said.

Jacob said he tried to push the weapon away.

"We fall to the floor. We are struggling. We are wrestling there for a little bit, and the gun goes off," Jacob explained.

He says the man pulled the trigger, but no one was injured. Then a second man got out of the car. They grabbed Jacob's backpack and cell phone before driving away.

The incident occurred in the 15700 block of 1st Avenue on April 18. Officers are conducting an ongoing search in the area.
