Tacoma police are warning parents about a man who tried to lure an 11-year-old girl who was waiting for the bus Tuesday.
The girl was in the 8400 to 8800 block of S. A Street at about 6:47 a.m. when a newer, four-door, black pickup truck drove up and stopped, according to the Tacoma Police Department.
The driver tried to get the girl to get into the truck for a ride. Police say the driver was persistent and asked numerous times, but the girl did not get in. When the school bus arrived, the driver left.
The girl was not hurt, and she reported the incident as soon as she arrived at school.
Police say the driver is described as a 40-year-old white man. He has a bald spot, framed with very short shaven hair -- it was described as a crown of hair. He appeared unshaven with stubble. He wore rectangular glasses and a red polo shirt.
It's not certain the make and model of the truck, but police say it may have been a Ford.
It had a logo on on the driver's side wheel well that was shaped similar to a pennant. The front, large end of the logo had the letter "M," but the rest of the logo is unknown. The logo was red, white and gray in color.
