EVERETT, Wash. — A 77-year-old man accused of killing a young Washington state woman in 1972 has been released on bail.
The Daily Herald reports Terrence Miller was released Friday after posting a $750,000 bond.
The Edmonds man has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder in the death of 20-year-old Jody Loomis.
Court documents say Miller's DNA was found on a boot Loomis wore when she was shot in the head in the woods near Mill Creek.
Authorities say a genealogist used the DNA to build a family tree that led Snohomish County investigators to Miller.
Miller was arrested in April. His trial is scheduled for October.
Miller is required to be electronically monitored at his home as part of his release conditions.
