Police released the identities late Tuesday of the family killed in a triple-murder and suicide in Spanaway.

The victims are 33-year-old Samantha Field and her children, 4-year-old Ava and 2-year-old Ashen. The alleged shooter was 29-year-old Clint Field.

Pierce County Sheriff's deputies said Field killed his wife and children early Tuesday, before shooting himself.

Authorities said Field called 911 to report killing his family. Dispatchers determined where the call came from and sent a tactical team to the address.

When SWAT made entry into the home, they discovered the family. The Pierce County Sheriff's Department said the victims were all found in their beds and appeared to have been killed in their sleep.

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department said Field was stationed at JBLM as a member of the Air Force.

According to military investigators, "The suspect may have received treatment for depression related issues and has recently been despondent over a pending divorce. There have been no previous contacts by our department at the residence and no known history of domestic violence."

"This is a tragic case," Troyer said. "We don’t know what led up to it. We don’t have any background."
