Data released this week from the national Case-Shiller Home Price Index indicates Seattle home prices continue to cool off. However, the market in areas outside of the city, such as Everett and Tacoma, continue to see a surge.
Prices regionwide grew 2.8 percent in February from a year ago, below the national average of 4 percent. At this time in 2018, prices were skyrocketing 12 percent year over year.
But in outlying metro areas, prices still grew about 8 percent from a year prior, including a jump of 1.5 percent just in February alone. The frenzy that once plagued home buyers in Seattle is still being felt elsewhere in Western Washington.
