Looking to maximize your home sale? Now is the time to list your house, according to recent Zillow research.
May 1-15 is the best window to a list a home for sale, because on average Seattle homeowners made $9,600 more than at other listing times, and homes sold an average of 11.5 days faster.
That compares to a $2,400 sales premium during this peak window nationwide.
Zillow speculated this could be because homebuyers have reached a point in the season where they’re frustrated and want to close a deal.
Many homebuyers begin house hunting in early spring, and they may not get the first home they offer on. By May homebuyers could be willing to pay extra to get a house before summer.
The research also found Thursday is the best day to list a home in Seattle to maximize the number of times your home is viewed in the first few days after it’s listed.
