Why are we scared of spiders?

Woodland Park Zoo's Mike Cash is here to drop some spider-knowledge and he even brought an 8-legged friend.

Spiders - even if you're not afraid of them, most of us just don't enjoy their company. However, they still play an important part in the ecosystem.

Woodland Park Zoo's Animal Keeper, Mike Cash, is here to talk about why some people are so afraid of spiders and bust some myths. 

He's also bringing his friend Fergie, a Chilean Rose Tarantula, as a positive representative for its species.

Spiders are an important part of our ecosystem.  They eat lots of insects, mostly smaller than themselves. They also kill other arachnids which helps keep the numbers down. So that must mean we have spiders to thank for there not being as many spiders?!
