SEATTLE — Most people are probably aware of the term "fake news" and the rush of fake articles and misleading advertisements on the internet. However, a new technology may be taking the ability to pull off an elaborate hoax to the next level.
Deepfake technology, which can make anyone look like, well, anyone else, could lead to some hefty ramifications, especially in political and journalistic arenas.
Journalist Katie Herzog from The Stranger explains more about deepfake and why we all might need to be more aware that not everything is quite what it seems.
