Here are the events Nancy spotlighted this week, plus an extra recommendation:

  1. Northwest World Fest 2018 is a brand-new festival celebrating African art and culture. This one-night-only event takes place Saturday, October 20th at Kings Hall on Beacon Hill.
  2. Rocketmen”, the wonderful and locally made retro-sci-fi web series, is now available on Amazon Prime!
  3. 3 cheers for the Seattle Symphony, who received the Orchestra of the Year Award at the 2018 Gramophone Classical Music Awards in London! Plan to experience the Seattle Symphony’s award-winning sound for yourself at “Beethoven Untuxed,” a 43-minute, no intermission concert featuring music from one of the most popular composers of all time. Friday, October 19th, 7:00 pm at Benaroya Hall.
  4. Kusama: Infinity,” a marvelous documentary film about the marvelous artist, Yayoi Kusama, runs at Northwest Film Forum thru Friday, October 19th, 7:30 pm at Northwest Film Forum
  5. CoCA Gallery presents “(Where) Do We Belong?” a timely exhibit featuring artwork that addresses the realities and challenges of Trump’s Zero-Tolerance Immigration Policies. Runs now thru November 17th.
