SEATTLE — Urban Connoisseurs' goal is to grow the Black winemaking community by 50% within the next 10 years by providing mentor and education opportunities and supporting the vintners who produce the best quality wine grapes.

Urban Connoisseurs' Founder Marcia Jones shared a few of her favorite wines produced by Black Vintners:

  • L'Objet Wines - 2014  Russian River Valley Pinot Noir Oehlman Vineyard, California
  • Bodkin Wines  - 2018 High Rock Ranch Zinfandel Sonoma County, California
  • Frichette Winery - 2017 Sashay Cabernet Sauvignon Red Mountain, Washington
  • JBV Exclusive Red Blend

Marcia Jones also created a documentary entitled Journey Between The Vines: The Black Winemakers' Story.

"I got started after visiting a few of the black winemakers in California and I think my experience was so great, I walked away with the attitude 'I want to do something,' not just share what it is but the more I met others... I wanted to bring awareness to them," said Jones. "We are in this industry and we need to be made known."
