Seattle — The Moscow Ballet is currently doing their Dove and Peace Tour, featuring the Great Russian Nutcracker and Swan Lake. What makes the Dove and Peace Tour different than the original Nutcracker is instead of being in the land of sweets in the second act, you are taken to the land of peace and harmony. There is also Russian nesting dolls and giant Russian puppets and birds.

This Russian company performs 100 engagements each year and also does community outreach with local dance studios. Seven Russian directors tour the U.S. and Canada searching for children to fill different roles. The American Dance Institute in Seattle is one of the studios that have children audition for the Nutcracker.

Elizabeth Chayer from the American Dance Institute talked more about this partnership and their dance center. We also had Elena Pedan from the Moscow Ballet perform for us and discuss the upcoming shows.
