Grapes, Paws and Hops Foundation is a foundation focused on bettering the lives of animals and humans alike. They host adoption events, put together special programs and support rescue animals in danger of being sent to high kill shelters.

Tanya Winfrey from the Grapes, Paws and Hops Foundation wants to help break down the stereotype that often gets placed on pit bulls. She encourages people to socialize their animals and teach them love and compassion.

In an effort to increase this awareness the foundation hosts an event called, Bully's & Boots. They take bully and aggressive breeds adopted from rescues and high kill shelters and train them to become emotional support and service dogs for Veterans. They also train Veterans to become certified dog trainers and assist with training for other Veterans.

"Most Veterans are on a waiting list for about five to ten years for a service animal and the service animals costs about $30,000 dollars a piece. So the Bully's & Boots will be a free program for them participate in," said Winfrey.

The foundation also prides itself on it's annual Bully's & Brews event. It it hosted at Lagunitas Brewing Co. in October in celebration of pit bull awareness month. Proceeds from beer sales benefit GPHF's Bully's & Boots program. This year's event will be on October 22, from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m.
