New book helps readers battle sleep disturbances for a better night's rest

Many Americans either have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep. An educational psychologist at the University of Washington has written a book to help relax the mind and help you catch more Z'S.

Seattle — After discovering her own sleep struggles, Dr. Diane Gillespie, educational psychologist at the University of Washington, crafted a book to help others fall asleep, whether they just got into bed or have been tossing and turning throughout the night. Stories For Getting Back To Sleep is a collection of short stories that utilize strategies recommended by researchers to fall asleep, featuring relaxing scenes and storylines to help readers doze off.

Dr. Gillespie is holding an author event at Third Place Books' Seward Park location on July 2 at 7:00 PM, 5041 Wilson Ave. S., Seattle.
